British Gypsum Thistle BondingCoat Plaster is a versatile undercoat plaster designed for use on smooth or low suction backgrounds, such as concrete, plasterboard, and painted surfaces. Supplied in a 25kg bag, it provides a reliable base layer for finishing plasters, helping to prepare both new and existing walls for skimming. With a setting time of approximately 2 hours, it gives sufficient working time for levelling and adjustments during application. Ideal for refurbishment projects, it is perfect for patching and making good uneven walls before applying finishing coats like Thistle MultiFinish or BoardFinish. The fine formulation ensures excellent adhesion and a strong, even backing on surfaces where traditional undercoats may struggle. Compliant with EN 13279-1:2008 standards, Thistle BondingCoat is a professional-grade solution for preparing internal walls and ceilings.

What is bonding plaster used for?
Bonding plaster is a type of undercoat plaster that provides a smooth, absorbent surface for topcoat plasters. It is primarily used on surfaces that are porous, uneven or have a low suction background, which can include concrete, bricks, or blocks. This plaster ensures a uniform and secure base for finishing layers, enhancing durability and appearance in interior plastering projects.
